25 Days of December 2013 Album

Well it's been almost a week since my last post. I was going to post the photos of my SN@AP Simple Stories album in the beginning of the week. That did not happened because, I started painting my album with Distress Paint  by Tim Holtz in the brushed pewter color and  that was to silvery. I was not happy with the color so, I went with this peeled paint by Tim Holtz. I applied three coats and used my Making Memories sand block to distress the album a bit. I used some We R Memory Keepers Washi Tape-Onyx and some Red Ribbon (name unknown from stash) to dress the album up a bit.

The chipboard frame is from Scenic Route Paper Co. (Rockland Let it Snow) so it the pattern paper behind it. I used my Making Memories sand block to distress the frame and brushed some Tim Holtz Distress Ink Fired Brick to the edges. I love chipboard but I can't never find it in the colors, shapes, letters, numbers etc. that I want so, I make my own. The number 25 is Quickutz Blossom Grand numbers that I layered 6 times, embossed them white, added Tim Holtz Distress Ink Fire Brick and heated, I then sprayed Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist in perfect pearl and heated. The word DAYS is Quickutz Blossom Mini cut out from Heidi Swapp Color Magic paper, that I layered 6 times, added Tim Holtz Distress Ink Fire Brick and heated, I then sprayed Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist in heirloom gold and heated. I did the same for the word OF but added Diamond Stickles, this matches with the ribbon. The word December is Quickutz Diesel that I layered only 4 times, embossed them white, I then sprayed Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist in perfect pearl and heated. Finally the 2013 is Quickutz Blossom Mini numbers that I layered only 4 times, embossed them white and sprayed Heidi Swapp Color Shine Sweet Cherry and heated.

Last but not least I sprayed Ranger Perfect Pearls Mist in perfect pearl to the red part of the album to make it shimmery.

25 layouts in December: Day 2

Day 2 will be photos of the aisle at Michaels where the Snap section is and the items I bought.  I decided to use a Snap Album for my 25 Layouts in December instead of incorporating the 25 days into my regular scrapbook. I'm also going to include photos of the October Afternoon Daily Flash Decade Date Stamps I received in the mail today. I'm currently working on my album cover and hope to post that tomorrow. There is never enough time in the day.

25 layouts in December

I have never done a layout/spread each day for almost a whole month. I'm going to try this 25 layouts/spreads for December and see how it goes. I guess there is no right or wrong way to do it because I've seen a lot of different layouts from 6 x 6 to 12 x 12 and project life spreads. I'm new to this all. December 1, 2013 will be trimming the Christmas tree. Will post photo tomorrow.

Millennium Park Layout

I go over and beyond when taking pictures so, I end up with so many I can't decide which ones to scrapbook first. I scrapbook old and new photos so my scrapbooks are not in any particular order. I love looking through my old photos and looking at how my boys have gotten so big.

Here  is a layout of my boys at Millennium Park in 2005. I used my August Scraptastic I found a boy kit.

I love using simple distressing techniques on my pages. I used the Making Memories distressing tool to distress the edge of the paper as well as Tim Holtz Walnut Stain Ink pad. The used Dear Lizzy printed Glitter Spearmint Thickers for (Millennium) and Jillibean Blue Corn Navy Alpha for (Park). I used the stamp set from the kit to stamp all around the page and to stamp the phrase check this out with the arrows. I also used a Quickutz bubble die, instant photo die and Chickadee alphabet for the word Cheese. I used some sequins from my Scraptastic PL Kit and some My Minds Eye enamel dots. The paper I used was My Mind's Eye Oxford Lanes Triples & Polka and Carta Bella Friends Forever & Triangles.

Me & My Sister Layout

I love the way this layout turned out. I used the Cocoa Daisy July 2013 Scrapbook Kit to create this layout with Me and my sister Alex. If you look at the bottom right corner you will see that I made a BooBoo. I started writing my journaling and I wasn't paying attention and I wrote down the wrong word, I try to correct it and it came out so bad. Unfortunately, because I'm using scrapbook kits they only provide one sheet of each paper, so I didn't have any more :(. What I did was I got a Versa Magic Red Ink pad and rubbed it on that corner and just rewrote my journaling.

Thank you for Visiting.

October Goal

My Goal for October is to create Two (2) 12 x 12 layouts a week and 1 Project Life Layout. I take so many pictures I can't catch up. I have also been scanning old photos that I have not scrapbook and need to organize them. I'm overwhelmed and can't decided which photos to scrap first. I try to scrap the most recent photos but there is just not enough time in the day, by the time I decide it's time for bed. I've been under the weather these past few days and September has been a busy month for me with family and work. I created 1 layout and 1 project life spread in September.

Will post soon.

Celebrating Scraptastic 3rd Year Anniversary with an Online Crop

Happy 3rd year Anniversary to Scraptastic Club Kit Club, I had a lot of fun on the first Online Crop. I challenged myself to finish one layout before hubby got back from his soccer game and the other after dinner. Well things happened and I was only able to create one page. Hope they have more Online Crops.

Just an Ordinary Day

I used the July 2013 Scraptastic Kit for this layout. For the words Just an I used Quickutz Oatmeal alphabet,  Ordinary are Thickers Niki Riki Glitter letters and Day are Thickers Iguana. My signature circles.

The journaling says: Dari and Daria were taking a nap, so I took the opportunity and spread my scraps on my bed so I can organize them while I watched a movie. That idea didn't last long.
The one in this layout is Dari.

Thank you for Visiting.

July 4, 2013 Challenge: Use Journalling Strips

It's About Time! Way Overdue Layout

This is my submission to the July 4, 2013 Challenge: Use Journalling Strips, Challenge given by Tracy Banks aka Mercy Tiara in the Scraptastic blog.

This challenge came at the perfect time, I not only decided to start a blog, but I also subscribed to the Scraptastic Club kit and July 2013 was my first kit.

I used the July 2013 Scraptastic Kit Out on the Town and the Add-On for this layout of my son getting a haircut  that was way overdue. I though this set was perfect for his pictures.

The Title: it's About Time! are Thickers called Ali and they're fabric chipboard, I love this font. I used fade-resistant Dye ink Memento Bahama Blue and rubbed on some silver paint to pop it out a bit. WAY OVERDUE are letters from the Here & Now by Echo Park that comes with the July kit. I used a file to distress it a bit. I used my Hero Arts Stamp and Cut Arrow kit to create the arrows and used some studio calico wood veneer arrows, and just stamped the words BEFORE and AFTER with Justrite title stamper.  I used a Making Memories Circle Tag, Ormolu Camera Flair Badge and a Tag from the kit.

I cut out my journalling strips and added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink to make the pop. My Journalling says: Dan couldn't decide on a hair style, so his hair grew to long. It was finally time for him to make a decision.

As I continue to create my layouts and post them here you will see that I love to use circles.

Thank you again Tracy, for this challenge. I actually did my first challenge and posted My First YouTube video to your challenge on 5/11/2013.

I think the Picture above came out clearer then the previous one I posted

Thank you for stopping by.
