Copic Markers Online Class Day 6

Day 6 of my Online Card Class: COPIC Markers for Card Makers working with the colorless blending marker 0 plus coloring animals and texture. My colorless marker did not work like I wanted it too. I think it's a little dry and it's a brand new marker. I have to pick up some refill. I really enjoy the techniques demonstrating the blending with the colorless marker. It gave a different look compared to the shading technique which was a softer look compared to a more shadowing look.

Copic Markers Online Class Day 5

Day 5 of my Online Card Class: COPIC Markers for Card Makers was Coloring Skin, Hair and Clothing. I only tried one skin and hair techniques and it was easy. I need to practice with different color skins and hair.

I tried the first ballerina and I shaded her face to dark and I didn't like that look so, I moved on to the next ballerina. I didn't really like the color combination I used on her hair. I'll keep practicing on that. The shading in her dress and ruffle was not was I expected either.

Once again I love this next technique that I learned from Sandy and it was a great challenge. Trying to color an African-American Girl was a challenge because, I did not have the colors. I had to improvise and pick a few colors that I had to practice along Sandy's video. I love the end results.

Copic Markers Online Class Day 3 & 4

Day 3 of my Online Card Class: COPIC Markers for Card Makers was Grey Shading. I love all the techniques that were given. I did have a little trouble with the flick/feather technique that Kathy demonstrated and I tried and it made my wrist hurt afterwards. Great Technique but, I've seen a few techniques that had a different flick movement.
This class was a great learning experience I learned that you can use Grey markers to get a shading affect if you don't have enough copic markers. I also love the was the Grey colors look blend together with other color families.

Day 4 of the class focused on Light Source Shading and I enjoyed Sandy's video on how she explains the light and I love her color techniques. (look at the first photos on the upper left) I didn't have the exact copic colors used in the other videos so, my coloring wasn't that great. I am getting better in coloring leaves and now I have a better understanding where the light source comes from and where the shadows should be.

Copic Markers Online Class Day 1 & 2

Day 1 & 2 of my Online Card Class: COPIC Markers for Card Makers was so much fun. I am a true beginner to Copic Markers and these step by step videos are the perfect thing for me.

I do have the Simon Says Stamp 120 lb Cardstock and OMG! I thought I broke my printer last night when I tried to print the practice sheets. Note to Self: "Do not use SSS Cardstock in the printer it's to thick to put in the tray but, may print if I can feed it through "I don't think I can". Oh! Well. I also have the Copic X- Press it Blending Card and I'm glad that went through my printer just fine. Always good to have a back up.

The blending techniques in these two day videos were vary educational. I'm so glad that I will be able to access them anytime I want. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the practice sheets. I thought I would share what I have so far.

Copic Markers for Card Makers Online Class

I was debating on whether or not to take a Copic Marker Class. I have around 100 plus Copic Markers and I would love to start utilizing them in the way that I planned when I first starting this investment. After all Copic Markers are not cheap and If I plan on buying more I plan on using them.

I subscribe to both Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner YouTube channels and they had a video on Copic Markers for Card Makers Class so, I clicked on the link for the class and saw that it was a class for beginners to intermediate students and have access to 35 videos at anytime. Wow!

I couldn't decide if I wanted to take the class or not so, as I sat at my desk looking at my Copic Marker Coloring books and online resources I thought to myself "I don't really have time to do both read a step by step book with great instructions or browse video after video to find the techniques that I need as a beginner. Hmmmm...."I really don't have time to take an online class and still be able to participate during the week while I work up to 9 hours Mon-Fri, come home and cook and finish my current projects" Hmmmm.... What to do?

I decided to go ahead and signed up for the class and I'm glad I did. I'll be posting my practice sheets as I attempt to complete them each day.

Erin Condren and Blog Planner

Well I'm so excited because I've received confirmation that my Erin Condren planner has been shipping. Woohoo! I've bought a few things to use in my planner (Sharpie markers to use on washi tape, Steadtler Fineliner pens, sticky notes and planner stamps from Studio L2E & CTMH and I've made a few labels for myself.

I've also been working on a Blog Planner. I bought a pink leather journal from target really cute. I've decided to use the stamps that I have and labels that I created to put in my blog planner. My original thought was to print out a weekly blog and challenge documents that I created using Excel which I currently use on my computer. I was going to take them to OfficeMax to have them bind it but, I decided to try the journal because it's so cute. I will post once I finish putting it together.

I'm happy to confirm that I am working on my 2013 December Daily and my sisters album on her trip to Disney World.

Challenge for this Month

Get back to posting on my Blog and Scheduling in time to scrapbook. I've also bought an Erin Condren Planner which I'm so excited to receive in a few weeks. I can get a little organize if I put it in my planner. I'm also working on a Blog Planner that I'm creating myself.
The last post here was in December where I left off on my December Daily and it's still not finished. My challenge for this month is to complete at least one page every day starting tomorrow Friday, September 5th. If I complete the challenge I will be done with it by the end of the month and post it in early October.

I'm also starting a Disney World album that I'm creating for my sister and brother-in-law. I'm so excited about that because she took so many pictures.

My motivation use to come from Two Peas in a Bucket website but, now that they have closed their website after 15 years I don't know where else to get inspired and chat with others that love to scrapbook.
